Angela Review Of Urskin

Nina:

First of all, excellent job on your presentation.  You showed that  you had clearly thought through many aspects of your site, including  overall structure (I liked the diagram) and target audience, and you  did a great job conveying your thoughts to the class.

Furthermore, your business plan is completely comprehensive and goes  into far more details than you did in your presentation but shows  that your planning is at an even deeper level than it appeared from  the presentation.  I particularly like how you've divided your plan  into phases that target different aspects of getting the site up and  running.

As for the site itself, I understand that it's just a homepage for  now, but I do have some questions.  First of all, do you really  expect to be able to update the daily feature every day?  It's hard  to tell how large of a feature this will be (as in, will it be a  helpful tip or a full article?), but if it's a larger one have you  factored in the work it will take?  After all, original articles will  require research, organization, and more writing--essentially, it'll  be like writing a paper every day.  Are these the features that will  be archived?  They would certainly be useful there, but how would a  reader looking at your homepage know where to look?  Also regarding  the archives, how will they themselves be organized?  On the one  hand, you could just list them based on when they were posted, which  would probably be easier for you and certainly for someone who had  missed a day or two and wanted to catch up, but on the other hand  organizing the articles based on their subject matter would be better  for someone looking specific information.  The latter problem could  be solved perhaps by a search function, if you knew how to add one of  those to the site.

Additionally, the categories for your product reviews are somewhat  confusing.  Are you reviewing things based on their brand or their  use?  After all, Neutrogena certainly makes acne treatment, and at  this point it's unclear which link one would follow to find  information on that--unless looking under either could work, but then  perhaps separating the links into two categories themselves would be  advisable to keep a user from confusion.

Those are just some small issues, overall like I said you've clearly  put a lot of thought into this and seem to know what you're doing!    Good luck with the site.
